After 25 years as an event planner Paula knew that to create her perfect venue, she needed to offer fine restaurant quality food with warm and professional service. At Rose & Smith we offer authentic Wairarapa hospitality. We’ve proudly hired and trained a Wairarapa team. Where possible we’ve only sourced local produce and we feature Wairarapa wines, beer and gin. Our aim is to have you and your guests feel at home with every need catered for.

If Paula brought the life to Rose & Smith, Dale brought the soul.
Our signature family style dining experience brings your guests together, sharing the love over plentiful sharing plates. The excitement of our menu is that it is cooked over fire and coal in our purpose built outdoor kitchen.
At Rose & Smith the food isn’t just a detail it’s an experience. Once you’re booked for the upcoming season you’ll be invited to our inclusive annual “Taste” event to enjoy the full food, beverage and service experience.
The magic maker behind that experience is our beloved in house chef Dale Keith who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of food, the Wairarapa region and the amazing produce it offers. With a passion for seasonal, high quality ingredients Dale has crafted a menu that is customisable to suit each couple, their taste and traditions. He has donned Rose & Smith and his kitchens his “happy place”, with him you can trust your delicious food will be delivered with the cheekiest of smiles.

“It wasn’t easy because there are so many delicious options and endless combinations! We wanted variety but also wanted the flavours of each dish to complement each other. So when tasting the options and making our decisions, we kept envisioning how everything would go together on the plate. We started with our favourite proteins and worked from there.”
