LOCATION WEDDING

R&SYour engagement story

P&BBJ popped the question when we were spending Christmas/New Year in a gorgeous spot near Kaiteriteri. I had got suspicious the day before though as there were a few signs pointing to his plan i.e him buying very expensive bubbly when he had never bought bubbly in his life, let alone nice stuff. So fair to say I was acting weird and on edge and totally ruined the moment when he attempted to be romantic on the beach! Beautiful spot and idea however execution on both ends could have been better.

We brought Rose and Smith to the middle of nowhere!

R&S: When planning your wedding what was most important to you?

P&B: That it was somewhere special for both of us and the day uniquely shared our story to our nearest and dearest. Also to actually enjoy the day and for everyone to have the best time!

What have your guests commented on the most since your wedding?

P&B: The unique location it was in, how smoothly everything ran, the FOOOOOD! Omg the food. The DJ. The vows. Hahaha to be honest there were so many amazing comments. It was truly the BEST day.

R&S: Who was the vendor you are glad you invested in?

P&B: Rose and Smith food, you cannot beat the quality and range of delicious locally sourced food wowowow. Every vendor was nailed on the day so I won’t go into every single one but one very unique touch which was so magical was the violin playing by Vivid Strings. Truly spine tingling!

Magical Redwood Forest ceremony

R&S: What went into or what was important to you when choosing your menu?

P&B: BJ is a keen hunter so we wanted to showcase produce he would often hunt or fish himself and the rest we put into Dale’s incredible hands. It was so well suited to the natural environment of the bush and I still salivate over the dishes ’til this day.

R&S: Was there anything unique you incorporated into your day that made it extra special?

P&B: I let Paula do her thing with the table design and it was so cool! Such a unique setup that gave off a real banquet vibe but in a modern, sleek, natural way. So so cool!

R&S: What is the one piece of advice you would give to future R&S couples?

P&B: Breathe, relax, everything will work out and trust in the magical powers of Paula. Trust me, she knows what she is doing. Be honest with your needs and they will deliver above and beyond your dreams!

R&S: What initially drew you to Rose & Smith and what made you book?

P&B: We had heard amazing reviews from friends about the Rose and Smith venue and then I got in touch with Paula and the more I witnessed of their slick operation the more I was impressed. Paula and her team are just so experienced and determined to make your day the best and most unique day to you!

R&S: Anything else you would like to add about your Rose & Smith experience

P&B: I am getting emotional reflecting on the day and wishing we could do it all again. Honestly you could not ask for a better planner than Paula and her amazing team and if I had one request it would be that we could just do it all again please!!!

END NOTE

Polly and BJ, covid and a gorgeous wee boy’s arrival delayed us a few times, but we got there! I often ask myself how did we pull this off?! Polly when you first showed me the Redwood forest I knew we just had to make this happen for you.

150 guests in a remote location, with no water, power or cellphone reception, it was my “wedding planner Everest”. But the challenges were what made it the most amazing day that I am so proud  to have created.

The incredible produce from BJ was the absolute dream for Chef Dale, the ceremony in the redwood forest with the string quartet was mine! Just amazing!

So much love for you both,

Much love, Paula
