Rose & Smith offers couples a truly magical location, creating an unforgettable day within a luxurious, serene and romantic setting. At Rose & Smith you will be working with Paula Bevege, one of New Zealand's most experienced event and wedding planners.

Rose & Smith at Tauherenikau delivers vintage charm and timeless elegance.

Our beautiful, light filled venueseats up to 200 guests and is surrounded by native bush and trees over 150 years old is bursting with native birdlife. Along with the bush, complete with stately English trees; the architecture, heritage grandstand and the beautiful Tauherenikau river will all provide a spectacular backdrop for both your ceremony and the outdoor photographs.

Our in house chef Dale Keith has 30 years of experience as a chef and restaurateur, most notably with Vista Café, The White Swan and as creator of the eponymous Mt Victoria & Thorndon Chipperies. We are fortunate to be based in bountiful Wairarapa where we have access to local farms and orchards that provide us with the freshest produce. Everything we serve is made from scratch, sourced locally where ever possible, and is the true “farm gate to plate” experience.

Your menu is designed exclusively for you and your guests. Dale will meet with you to do an initial tasting and to discuss your ideas. From there, he will design a menu that will incorporate your personal food preferences and desires, while also reflecting the atmosphere you want to convey at your wedding. Whether you are a self proclaimed foodie, or unsure of where to start, Dale will lead you down a path of gourmet delightfulness and deliciousness, with a feast to satisfy all the senses!

We pride ourselves on our high level of service in all aspects of planning and overseeing your special day, so that you can focus on the most important thing of all – enjoying your event or wedding!

Enjoy the country charm of our affordable Race Course Ranch accommodation, consisting of 20 twin rooms with lounge and kitchen areas.
